It was as if the dresses had been painted by Saab- his latest collection showed that the true art of fashion is undoubtedly couture. I’m with Style.com, though- take the gowns off the runway and they will look like High School Musical meets the happy part of Prom Night, if it was all set in the early 1940s. (Wow, I agree with Condé Nast?)
However, the efforts of Saab must not go unnoticed- and, in practice, couture isn’t going to be worn by students at a suburban high school. There were truly great parts to the collection, so here’s some of the best:

Okay, so it’s good. Anyway… does anyone really have the right to an opinion?
Alexis Mabille’s latest collection shows that couture needn’t be lavish- this geometric fantasia is an unpretentious step forward for the Paris-trained designer. Obviously, there were bows- this is Mabille, after all. Have a look:

Yes, yes, yes.
Valentino stunned with a sort of futuristic, cyber fashion that comprised vibrancy, delicacy and show-stopping designs. The artistic clothes were unpretentious in their finality, meaning that the couture was artistic, but wearable. Bandage-tight silhouettes contrasted with flowing and more liberated dresses, whilst coats and jackets gave the collection a modern elegance.

Beautiful!
Mexico meets Pirates of the Caribbean meets Native American was the fusion created by John Paul Gaultier in his latest Haute Couture collection. Long skirts, amazing headwear and inspiring designs galore. Vibrant prints, floaty dresses and exotic colours made it feel like the garments were part of an exclusive tropical resort. Words can’t do this collection justice, so take a look for yourself:

Fantastic!
The price of silver must have sky-rocketed after this amazing collection was revealed in Paris yesterday- in a move that Lagerfeld says came to him in “an electronic flash in my head at five o’clock one morning”. The long awaited couture show contains some true metallic masterpieces, with the undisputed mastery of Karl Lagerfeld as evident as ever.
Spotted: bows. On trend, feminine and- in a word- perfect.
Shining silvers were combined with pretty shapes and delicate fabrics to create a tranquil mood with a striking overtone. Bows and subtle edging were paired with embellishments, as were diamonds with limes, and baroque heels with pearl decoration to boast the lavishness of couture. Truly amazing clothes:

It’s all just amazing.
