Trends, RTW AW10: Fur
Faux Fox Sake: fur is still a touchy subject, with the treatment of animals and the sometimes cruel nature of fur farming coming under nigh-on constant scrutiny. This hasn’t stopped fashion designers, though, and the sumptuous material remains a fixture of Autumn/Winter, appearing on a huge number of runways in the past few weeks.
Go all out tacky in Chanel, or head down a more sophisticated route with Carolina Herrera. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong- fur’s going to be big, with its revival, pleasingly, continuing into the later months of 2010. Light furs, dark furs, whatever- as long as it’s from an animal, it’s on-trend. Only kidding: some designers are, respectfully, choosing to use fake stuff. Even if you’re a die-hard environmentalist, you surely can’t deny the sheer luxury of wearing fur. Go on, I dare you.
